750 athletes from 18 nations at the race on Sunday
Big numbers for the Adamello Ski Raid, an international ski-touring race that is also a leg of the prestigious circuits of La Grande Course and the Dolomites Cup. Sunday, April 2, at dawn, more than 750 competitors will enliven with their technical skills one of the most beautiful peaks of the Alps, with its glacier, a symbol for its historic value and its technical and morphological characteristics.
TWO TEAMS FROM THE MILITARY. The athletes this year represent 18 nations, with some new Chinese teams. They will compete in teams made up of two people on a racecourse that is about 48 km long with a positive altitude gap of almost 4000m. Among these, the favorite couple that won the last edition in 2015 (the competition is held every two years) showing a major team spirit with a time of 4 hours and 41 minutes: Damiano Lenzi and Matteo Eydallin of the Military Sports Center. The younger comrades who form an unusual couple, Michele Boscacci and Nadir Maguet will try to give a hard time to the favorite couple, together with all the foreign teams. The Swiss team consisting of Werner Marti and Martin Anthamatten, the Austria team with Jakob Hermann - Filippo Barazzuol and Marc Hochstaffl and Johannes Walder, the Spanish couple with Oriol Cardona and Marc Pinsach Rubirola and the French Leo Rochaix and Emilien Bochet. Keep an eye on William and Boffelli Pietro Lanfranchi, Filippo Beccari and the Norwegian Erik Skjervheim, Francois Cazzanelli and Stefano Stradelli, Tadei Pivk and Franco Colle. In the women category, the couple to beat is the one formed by the French Laetitia Roux and the Spanish Claudia Galicia Cotrina, but do not forget the French-Swiss team Jennifer Fiechter and Axelle Mollaret, as also the Spanish Marta Riba and Nahia Quincoces. The top Italian team will be Katia Tomatis and Alba De Silvestro, while the two home athletes Corinna Ghirardi and Bianca Balzarini will definitely exploit their racecourse knowledge.
As in previous editions, the prize money for the winner of the men's and female race will be the same, as well as for the other steps of the podium: € 3000 to the winners, € 2000 for second place and € 1500 for the third place.
