Spectators watching the high altitude race
From 5 to 7 on Sunday April 12 the public has free access to the lifts from Passo Tonale to Passo Paradiso (20 minute rise). As athletes are expected to pass on Passo Presena between 6.30 and 7.30, three packages were set:
5.30: ascent with the gondola Paradiso until Passo Paradiso
6.10: female start from Passo Paradiso, following the first male athlete’s passage. From Passo Paradiso people can take the lift until Passo Presena.
6.40: Passage of the athletes on Passo Presena. After the athletes, the public can face with skis the Mandrone downhill and the uphill to Passo Laghi Gelati (“Pisgnanino”), with namesake descent.
10.40: First athlete’s arrival in Ponte di Legno
5.00: ascent with the lifts until Passo Presena, then descent to Rifugio Mandrone and up again to Passo Laghi Gelati (“Pisgnanino”).
7.10: athletes’ passage on Passo Tre Denti and ascent to Bedole after competitors
10.00: athletes’ passage on Passo Venezia and Pisgana discent after competitors
5.00: ascent with the lifts until Passo Presena, then descent to Rifugio Mandrone
6.45: athletes’ passage to Mandrone Lake and ascent to Rifugio Lobbia Alta.
7.45: athletes’ passage on Passo Lobbia Alta, and so ascent to Passo Valletta and Pisgana descent (after competitors)
Spectators will move around the area with the Paradiso gondola from 5 to 7. They will receive a free ticket including also the comeback to Passo Tonale with the lift Val Sozzine and the Ponte-Tonale gondola.
